Dear Member There’s a lot going on in the Society as you’ll see from the enclosed Annual Report and we all hope you will be able to join us at the Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club on Thursday 9th July at 8 pm when there will be a slide show of last year’s tours after the formal business of the annual and extraordinary general meetings. The bar will be open and refreshments will be available; this is a great chance for members to talk to those of us on Council and to understand more about the changes that are taking place.
We value your views, particularly about the sort of charitable activities which the Society should be undertaking and just as importantly about the sort of fund raising events we should be holding around the country to pay for those activities – a quick look for ‘fund raising activities’ on Google will show you 300 or more ways of having fun while raising money for an activity which we value and share with so many others.
We would like to see the Society taking a much more prominent role in all aspects of horticulture throughout Ireland – like all charities we rely on our members and volunteers; as well as charitable activities and fund-raising, we need help with book-keeping and membership records (which might well suit anyone who wished to work from home for a few hours each week). So make a note in your diary – 8pm Thursday 9th July – and come along to talk to us.
